Here lies the more memorable of events in Elysian history.

Xanth's Arrival
When Xanth's father threatened to marry her off, one of her brothers convinced her to leave Tanakheim for fear of what Abdiriz would do to her for refusing.
She arrived on Earth with no knowledge of what was beyond the dimensions her father controlled and so was shocked to learn that the people she discovered were powerless before her. The human settlers who witnessed her arrival were awed by the portal she created, and news soon spread of the existence of the girl with powers so magnificent she was as a god.
It didn't take long for Xanth to settle into the role and those same settlers soon became her worshippers, building her temple after temple after temple. It wasn't until almost five hundred years had passed however that they built one she truly liked. It is this temple Elysians today know as Xanth's Temple, and the only one that has not been allowed to fall into ruin.
Creation of the Book of Days
When Xanth had been on Earth for nearly a thousand years, she realised that so much had happened since her arrival that she could not hope to remember it all. Much of it was worth remembering, so she decided to devise another way to record history.
And so the Book of Days was fashioned out of a book lovingly made by one of her most loyal followers, protected by magics and a heavy lock and placed upon a pedestal carved from limestone.
Legends tell that if you try to touch the book without uttering the password first, you will be thrown into such mental anguish that you will be driven insane by it, and trying to open the lock without the key in your possession will burn your hands so badly they will become useless. These are moot points, however, as the Temple itself is guarded by the most ferocious of beasts, making it impossible to reach the Book in any event.
The First Anyelos
Over a thousand years after her arrival on Earth, Xanth was bored. She was, after all, just a child, and for a child with the power to destroy and create on a whim it is incredibly easy to run out of things to do.
And so she started to mess around with the genetics of her worshippers, hoping to give the humans more powers. And so the first Anyelos was born with the wings of a bird and various other abilities, including empathy and the power to control light. Happy with her experiment, Xanth created another, and another, until there were enough to propogate their own species, then she sat back and waited to see what would happen.
Unfortunately, over time the Anyeli have split into two factions that have been at war for centuries, and the race has become decimated. Xanth hopes for peace between the two factions but the war seems set to continue for the forseeable future.
Demonic Creations
By the time the Anyeli were considered a nation in their own right, Xanth was already bored and set to work playing with genetics again, this time combining Anyeli DNA with that of her original human worshippers. The results were completely unexpected, humanoids with bat-like wings and the ability to control the elements.
For many years, the demons lived on Earth along with humans and the Anyeli, even though their offensive smell pushed them to the edges of society. Many humans actually blamed them for a number of the plagues that ran rampant at that time though the accuracy of these claims is unproven.
Birth of the Nymph
Yep, you guessed it. Xanth got bored again. This time, she took the elements of the demons and combined them with human DNA to create the Nymph. Unfortunately there were unforeseen side effects of this combination - all Nymph needed to bond to their element in order to survive, and in doing so meant they were weakened if they had to be away from their element.
Because of this weakness, the Nymph edged away into rural areas and few were ever heard of again, though their influence over nature and the elements could still be felt.
